Miscreants hold bus driver at gunpoint, flee with passenger’s bag in Medinipur

Miscreants hold bus driver at gunpoint, flee with passenger’s bag in Medinipur

A passenger bus traveling from Medinipur to Kharagpur was forcibly stopped by armed men on Friday afternoon. According to police, five suspects riding two motorcycles approached the bus, held a gun to the driver’s head, and made him halt the vehicle midway on the route. Following this, the group entered the bus, snatched a passenger’s bag, and fled the scene.

The incident caused panic among the passengers onboard. Kotwali Police Station officials arrived at the location after receiving information and immediately launched an investigation. Police are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify and locate the suspects involved in the robbery.

Medinipur Municipality Chairman Soumen Khan also visited the site to review the situation. Police have assured that efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators. Authorities are increasing patrols in the area to maintain security and prevent similar incidents in the future.
