Missing Bihar laborer’s body found in stagnant water at under-construction building in Bally

The body of Subodh Roy, a 32-year-old laborer from Samastipur, Bihar, was recovered from the waterlogged lift shaft of an under-construction apartment in Bally’s Nischinda Ghoshpara area on Tuesday morning. Roy had been missing since Monday, and his co-workers spotted his body floating in stagnant water. Nischinda police were informed and arrived at the scene to retrieve the body, which was then sent to Belur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later moved for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

According to police sources, Roy had been working at the site, where multiple laborers from different states were engaged in construction work. Officials have started questioning his co-workers, site supervisors, and contractors to gather details about his movements before he went missing. The police are also inspecting the site for any safety violations, as the area where the body was found was reportedly filled with rainwater and construction debris. No official statement has been released regarding whether the death was accidental or if foul play is suspected.
