This morning, Rabindra Sarovar in South Kolkata witnessed a powerful protest as morning walkers gathered to demand justice for the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital incident. The rally, which began at 7:30 AM, was organized to express solidarity with the victim, widely referred to as "Abhaya," and to call for swift action against those responsible.
The protesters marched from Gate Number 10 to Golpark, led by Sumita Banerjee, then circled back through the Sarovar, ending their rally at Gate Number 10. The participants, many of whom are respected figures in the community, raised slogans of "Justice for RG Kar" and "Justice for Abhaya" as they walked through the serene morning air.
The march concluded with the chanting of "Vande Mataram" and the singing of the National Anthem, symbolizing the unity and determination of the participants to seek justice. The event was marked by a significant turnout, reflecting the deep concern and outrage among the local community over the recent tragic events.
