Mother-daughter found dead in Madhyamgram home, suicide note recovered

A tragic and mysterious incident unfolded in Doharia, Madhyamgram, where a mother and her five-year-old daughter were found dead inside their home on Thursday night. The shocking discovery was made after neighbors alerted the authorities when they noticed no response from inside the house. Police broke down the door and found the lifeless bodies in separate locations within the home.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Priyanka Ray and her daughter, Prasanksha Ray. According to initial reports, the child’s body was found lying on the bed, while Priyanka’s body was recovered from the kitchen floor. The victims were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

During their investigation, the police recovered a suicide note allegedly written by Priyanka Ray. The note stated that "no one is responsible for my death," suggesting a possible case of suicide. However, authorities are not ruling out other possibilities and are treating the case with caution.

Further complicating the case, police found traces of kerosene oil on Priyanka’s body, raising suspicions about the circumstances of her death. Forensic experts have been called in to analyze the evidence and determine whether the deaths were self-inflicted or if foul play was involved.

The housewife’s husband, Suman Ray, has been questioned by Madhyamgram Police. He is reportedly cooperating with the investigation. The police have also spoken to neighbors and relatives to gather more details about the family's situation and any possible distress Priyanka may have been facing.

Authorities are now awaiting the autopsy report, which will confirm the exact cause of death. Until then, the case remains under active investigation, with the police determined to uncover the truth behind the tragic deaths.
