MP High Court allows man to donate part of liver to his brother overruling wife's objection

In an unusual case from Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, a legal battle unfolded as Vikas Aggarwal sought permission from the Jabalpur High Court to proceed with a liver tissue transplant to save his elder brother Vivek Aggarwal.

Despite medical approval from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, Vikas faced opposition from his wife, Shilpa Aggarwal, who raised objections, citing legal constraints on organ donation without the unanimous agreement of all relatives. Justice Rajmohan Singh, in a single-bench decision, granted Vikas legal permission to proceed with the transplant, emphasizing the voluntary nature of the decision.
