Indian Railways has announced extensive train regulation over the Asansol division on April 5, 2026, due to planned track maintenance work across multiple sections. The affected areas include Joramow-Madhupur, Madhupur-Nawapatra, Jasidih-Tulsitanr, Lahabon-Simultala, Sitarampur-Barachak, Andal/East Outer Cabin, Durgapur-Rajbandh, Paraj-Galsi, Mankar-Panagarh, Raniganj-Nimcha, Chinpai-Siuri, and Ukhra-Kajoragram. The block work will affect both up and down lines, single line sections, and multiple MEMU, DEMU, and express train operations. Passengers are advised to check schedules and plan travel accordingly.
As part of the regulation, 21 MEMU and DEMU passenger trains have been cancelled, including services between Asansol-Jasidih, Jhajha-Deoghar, Jasidih-Banka, and Andal-Barddhaman. Several long-distance express trains, including Dhanbad-Patna Intercity, Gorakhpur-Asansol Express, and Howrah-Siuri Hool Express, will be rescheduled by 45 minutes to 3 hours. In addition, certain trains will operate as short-originated or short-terminated services, including Deoghar-Patna MEMU, Jasidih-Kiul MEMU, Asansol-Gaya MEMU Express, and Mokama-Jasidih MEMU, with affected sections cancelled entirely. Special control measures will apply to Vasco Da Gama-Jasidih Express in case of delays.
Railway authorities have also issued a timetable indicating the last train before and the first train after the maintenance block for all affected sections. Commuters are urged to remain updated on train statuses to avoid inconvenience. The administration emphasizes that these measures are necessary to ensure safe and uninterrupted track maintenance, with all operations being closely monitored by railway officials.
