Two people suffered injuries after a shootout in Hooghly district's Magra late Wednesday night. They have been identified as Biswajit De (40) and Maidul Islam (30). Both were admitted to Chuchura Imambada Hospital after the incident. However, Biswajit was shifted to a private hospital in Kolkata as he was critical.
As per police reports, both the victims were traveling on a motorbike near Naksa More of Magra. They were shot at by a car coming from behind. Several rounds were fired in which Maiduk was shot in his leg while Biswajit's hand and abdomen got hit.
Police sources hint at an old rivalry behind the shootout. ACP, Hooghly Gramin Kalyan Sarkar said that the investigation is going on in full swing.
