In a distressing incident early on Thursday, a 35-year-old man from Jalna, identified as Sunil Baburao Kawle, allegedly took his own life by hanging himself from a flyover in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. His tragic act is believed to be a stark demand for Maratha community reservations, shedding light on the persistent struggle for equitable representation.
Kawle's body has been sent for autopsy, and authorities are in contact with his family to understand the circumstances that led to this extreme step.
The Maratha Kranti Morcha Convenors, Virendra Pawar and Vinod Patil, expressed their condolences over Kawle's death and appealed to the community not to resort to such extreme measures in the fight for reservations. They emphasized the importance of continued peaceful advocacy and dialogue to address the concerns of the Maratha community.
Authorities are now working to gather information about Kawle's background and the factors that may have driven him to take this drastic action.
