Munawar Faruqui, the winner of Bigg Boss 17, has broken his silence on allegations of the show being fixed in his favor. Responding to claims that he was a 'fixed winner,' the stand-up comedian asserted that the intense scrutiny he faced throughout the season contradicts the notion of a predetermined victory.
In an interview, Faruqui emphasized the hard work he invested, stating, "If I would have been a fixed winner, I would have got everything on a platter. The whole season is proof that I’ve got nothing on a platter; I’ve worked hard and a lot." He urged skeptics to watch the entire season, emphasizing that it wasn't fixed.
Addressing the controversy further, Faruqui acknowledged the strong fanbase and the challenges of reality shows, admitting that opinions might differ. He stated, "People who are calling me a fixed winner, I can’t change their opinion." Despite expressing a desire to alter perceptions before entering Bigg Boss, he now accepts the limitations of changing everyone's viewpoint.
In the aftermath of Munawar Faruqui's victory, first runner-up Abhishek Kumar gained traction on social media, with some viewers contending that he was more deserving of the title. However, reports suggest that Munawar secured a significant lead in votes. The top five contestants also included Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande, and YouTuber Arun Mahashetty.
