At least two people dead and several others injured in a stabbing incident at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Saturday afternoon. nitial reports indicate that one man succumbed to fatal stab wounds, while three additional individuals suffered injuries during the attack.
In response, police at the scene shot and killed another man, believed to be the alleged suspect. Lockdown has been imposed in the shopping centre and with authorities evacuating people from the premises.
Emergency services were called to Westfield Bondi Junction, following the reports, New South Wales Police said in a statement.
"People are urged to avoid the area," the statement said.
"Inquiries are continuing in relation to the incident and there are no further details," it added.
