No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A shocking case of sexual assault has emerged within the Indian sporting community, where a national-level shooting coach has been accused of raping a 17-year-old minor athlete. The incident reportedly took place in a hotel located in the Surajkund area of Faridabad. The survivor, also a national-level shooter, was in the city to participate in a shooting championship held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
According to the police complaint, the coach allegedly summoned the teenager to the hotel lobby after the day's competition had concluded. He reportedly used the pretext of "evaluating her performance" to gain her confidence. The minor athlete stated that the coach then pressured her into accompanying him to his hotel room, where the alleged assault occurred.
The Faridabad Police have acted swiftly following the complaint, registering a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections of the law. Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh confirmed that a comprehensive investigation has been launched. Authorities are currently focusing on technical evidence, including the analysis of CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding areas to verify the sequence of events.
