Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
A chilling murder case has emerged from Visakhapatnam, where a Navy staffer allegedly killed a woman at his residence, dismembered her body and stored parts of it in a refrigerator. The accused later surrendered before the police, leading to the discovery of the crime and triggering a detailed investigation.
The accused, identified as Chintada Ravindra, is posted at INS Dega and had reportedly been in a relationship with the victim, Polipalli Mounika, since 2021 after meeting through a dating application. According to police, Ravindra called Mounika to his home on Sunday while his wife was away, but a dispute broke out between the two that escalated into violence.
During the altercation, Ravindra allegedly stabbed Mounika to death. He then dismembered the body, disposing of some parts at an isolated location while keeping the remaining parts inside his refrigerator. When police reached the house following his confession, they recovered several body parts, though the victim’s head was missing.
Preliminary investigation suggests that frequent disputes between the two may have been triggered by financial issues and threats related to exposing their relationship. Police said the accused claimed the victim had taken money from him and was allegedly blackmailing him, which led to recurring tensions.
A murder case has been registered, and a special team has been formed to trace the missing body parts and establish the complete sequence of events. Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather evidence and verify the claims made by the accused.
