NCB busts darknet drug network ‘Team Kalki’; over 2,000 LSD blots, MDMA seized nationwide

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismantled a pan-India drug distribution network operating on the darknet and seized large quantities of narcotic substances, including more than 2,000 LSD blots and MDMA. Officials said the operation uncovered a sophisticated online trafficking system that had been active since January 2025.

According to investigators, the network operated under the vendor name “Team Kalki” on darknet forums and maintained a four-star rating, indicating a high number of completed transactions. Authorities said the group had possibly carried out over 1,000 deliveries across India while communicating with buyers through encrypted platforms such as the Session messaging application.

During the operation, NCB officers seized 2,338 LSD blotters, 160 MDMA pills weighing 77.517 grams, 73.612 grams of charas, 3.642 grams of amphetamine and 3.6 kilograms of liquid MDMA. The seizures were made from 13 domestically intercepted parcels and two international consignments originating from the Netherlands.

Investigations revealed that the drugs were sourced from international darknet vendors based in the Netherlands, Poland and Germany before being distributed across India. The consignments were shipped through courier and postal services, with several deliveries intercepted in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala and Karnataka.

Officials said the darknet vendor “Team Kalki” was operated by Anurag Thakur and his associate Vikas Rathi, who allegedly began running the network after coming into contact while lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with earlier drug trafficking cases. The investigation also revealed the use of “dead drop” delivery methods in limited areas of Delhi, where parcels were left at predetermined locations for customers to collect.
