BJP targets Mamata over Jaynagar girl death; block road at CR Avenue
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar, grandnephew of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, presented himself before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials for questioning regarding the ongoing money laundering probe linked to the sale of Kannad Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana (SSK) to Baramati Agro. Seeking support, Rohit was accompanied by Pratibha Pawar at the NCP office, located in close proximity to the ED agency.
Previously questioned on January 24th, Rohit Pawar claimed to have addressed all queries during the 12-hour session, covering aspects such as Baramati Agro's operations, auction-related details, and financial transactions linked to the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam.
Ahead of his latest appearance, Rohit Pawar sought blessings from Pratibha Pawar and acknowledged her support in the absence of Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule. A significant development related to the MSCB scam emerged as the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) filed a closure report, asserting a lack of evidence against the bank's office bearers.
This development coincides with the ED's ongoing interrogation of Rohit Pawar. If the EOW's closure report is accepted, it may impact the money laundering proceedings against all accused, including Rohit Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, whose name was excluded from the ED chargesheet.
