NDRF rescues family from flooded bungalow in Delhi's Civil Lines

National Rescue Service (NDRF) personnel on Thursday rescued a family from one of the flooded bungalows in the Civil Lines area of ​​the capital. 

The NDRF team used boats to travel on waterlogged roads. However, many families are unwilling to leave their flooded homes, which are submerged knee-deep in water. Several areas in the capital were flooded, causing much hardship to the citizens.

The capital's largest domestic bus terminal, the Kashmir Gate Bus Terminal, was flooded, forcing the suspension of bus services.

A video shared by media showed a police van stuck on a waterlogged road near the Kashmir Gate. The van was empty as its occupants had been evacuated. Also in a video several vehicles were stuck on a flooded road under a railway bridge in East Delhi's Geeta Colony area.

On Wednesday, the Jamuna river broke a 45-year-old record and touched 208.48 meters at 11 pm. However, water levels are stable at 208.62 meters since the last hour.

However, all schools, colleges and non-essential government offices in Delhi remained closed till Sunday. At least 16,500 people have been evacuated and moved to 2,500 relief camps since Wednesday.
