Neighbour arrested after stabbing a class 8 boy multiple times in Naihati

A peaceful neighbourhood in Naihati turned into a nightmare on Tuesday night when a young man suddenly attacked a 14-year-old Class 8 student with a sharp weapon, stabbing him multiple times. The victim, Debansh Sarkar, was playing or walking near his home in Bora Kalitala area under Naihati Shibdaspur police station when neighbour Subha Majumdar allegedly grabbed him and stabbed repeatatively. Locals heard screams and rushed to the spot, but the attacker fled into the darkness.

Covered in blood and crying in pain, victim Debangsha Sarkar was immediately rushed to Naihati State General Hospital where doctors say his condition is very critical. Police acted fast after the family filed a complaint and arrested Subha Majumdar in midnight from a nearby garden in the area. The accused lives just doors away from the victim, making the attack even more shocking for residents who never expected such violence between neighbours. While the boy’s family demands the strictest punishment.
