Never discriminated against minorities: Nitish Kumar assures equal pay and welfare for Madrasa teachers

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assured the Muslim community that his government has worked without discrimination and will continue to address their issues. Speaking at the centenary celebration of the Bihar State Madrasa Education Board at Bapu Sabhagar, he said, “Any problem of the minority community will be solved immediately.”

The Chief Minister stated that before 2005, no government carried out meaningful work for Muslims. He added that after the NDA government came to power, steps were taken such as fencing graveyards from 2006 onwards and ensuring law and order in sensitive areas. Kumar said madrasa teachers now receive the same salary as government school teachers, whereas earlier they did not get paid regularly.

Highlighting welfare work, Kumar said that his government has provided benefits across all sections, including backward classes, Dalits, and Mahadalits. He mentioned that earlier electricity supply was in poor condition but now free power is being provided to households.

Referring to the Bhagalpur riots, Kumar said that in 2005, action was taken against those found guilty and compensation was provided to the victims. He also mentioned that the government provides ₹25,000 to Muslim women deserted by their husbands as part of support measures.

The Chief Minister further stated that schemes for the education of Muslim boys and girls have been implemented. He said the government would ensure that minorities face no difficulties and called on the community to inform the administration immediately if any problem arises so that it can be resolved.
