As the Secondary Examination in the state approaches, the Board of Secondary Education has completed comprehensive preparations, ensuring a smooth conduct of the exams from February 2 to February 12. A total of nine lakh twenty-three thousand students have registered for the examination. The board has implemented strict security measures, including the establishment of control rooms in every district, installation of CCTV cameras at all examination centers, and color-coded question paper packets with unique codes to prevent any possibility of a question paper leak.
The revised exam timings, from 9:45 am to 1 pm, were introduced on January 18 to enhance the examination process, with the first 15 minutes dedicated to reading the question paper. Students are required to carry their admit cards, enter the examination center from 8:30 am onwards, and follow the updated guidelines for a secure and efficient examination experience.
To maintain the confidentiality of the examination process, the board has instructed school heads to collect question paper packets from police custody two hours prior to the exam. The first language test is scheduled for Friday, February 2, encompassing languages such as Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Oriya, Gurmukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu, and Santhali. Adherence to scheduled reporting times and careful cross-checking of instructions on admit cards is mandatory for all candidates.
Additionally, teachers and non-teaching staff are required to reach the examination center at 8 am. Helpline numbers (033-23213216 and 033-23213844 for the examination section, and 033-23592277 and 033-23592278 for the control room) have been issued to provide support and guidance for candidates.
