The National Investigation Agency (NIA) delivered a strong blow to the terror network behind the horrific car bomb blast near Delhi's iconic Red Fort on November 10, arrests four more key suspects and pushing the total arrests tally to six. The explosive attack, which claimed 13 innocent lives and injured more than 30 shook the heart of the capital when a Hyundai i20 car detonated prematurely in a crowded area. The fresh arrests includes three doctors from Jammu and Kashmir—Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian—along with Dr Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.
All four were nabbed in Srinagar following court orders from Delhi's Patiala House Court. These individuals allegedly played crucial roles in plotting and supporting the suicide bombing carried out by Dr Umar Un Nabi, a Kashmiri doctor and assistant professor who rammed the vehicle into the target zone. Earlier arrests included Amir Rashid Ali, whose name was on the car's registration and who helped procure the vehicle, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, a technical whiz accused of modifying drones and building rockets for the attack.
NIA's probe has uncovered a sophisticated "white-collar" terror module involving educated professionals, with interrogations revealing deeper links to cross-state conspiracies. As the investigation races ahead under case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI, NIA teams are currently grilling all six accused to expose the full web of terror. Coordinating with Delhi Police, J&K Police, Haryana, and UP forces, the agency has examined over 73 witnesses and seized another vehicle tied to the bomber. This fast-moving crackdown signals zero tolerance for such threats, aiming to dismantle the module completely and prevent future strikes on India's urban hubs.
