A suspected terrorist, with links to the banned terrorist organisation Al Qaeda, was arrested in Bengaluru by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday morning.
The suspect, identified as Arif, was working as a software engineer in Bengaluru. According to the sources, he was in touch with people over the internet for more than two years. He wanted to fly to Iran and Afghanistan to join the Islamic State (IS).
NIA has seized his laptop and other electronic devices for investigation. Further questioning and investigation are underway.
