Night clash between promoter & shop owners in Howrah's Liluah, several injured

Panic gripped Liluah Station Road on Saturday night after a group of goons allegedly linked to a real estate developer attacked a local businessman in broad daylight. Several people were seriously injured in the incident, which caused chaos in the busy commercial area.

According to local accounts, the attackers targeted businessmen operating along the stretch, leaving one businessman critically injured along with others who tried to intervene. CCTV footage of the assault has surfaced, showing the brutality of the attack and triggering widespread outrage among traders. Following the incident, agitated businessmen blocked Liluah Station Road in protest, demanding immediate action against the accused. They alleged that the developer and his associates had been threatening them for weeks to vacate their shops, creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

Protesters also claimed that police had been informed about the threats in advance, yet the attack still took place. Police personnel were deployed at the spot to control the situation and restore traffic, while an investigation into the allegations and the CCTV footage is underway.
