Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s long-awaited IPL title celebration has hit an unexpected snag. Though the team is back in Bengaluru after clinching their maiden IPL championship, there is still no clarity on whether the much-anticipated open-bus victory parade will happen. The team was set to travel from Vidhana Soudha to M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate their IPL 2025 triumph with fans.
While the Mysuru-style open bus is ready, the Bengaluru traffic police have expressed concern about managing massive crowds and congestion in one of India’s busiest cities. As a result, they are reportedly reluctant to grant clearance for the street parade. This has triggered disappointment among RCB fans, especially since this marks the franchise’s first-ever IPL title win after 18 seasons.
Virat Kohli and other RCB stars have already arrived in the city and were scheduled to first meet Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar at Vidhana Soudha. After that, the original plan included a parade and a felicitation ceremony at Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, the parade portion remains uncertain.
Despite security hesitations, reports indicate the team may still proceed with a modified celebration. RCB fans across social media continue to urge authorities to find a way to allow the full parade — to mark a historic day in the city’s cricketing legacy.
