Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
In a shocking incident from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, a nursery student from a private school was suspended for allegedly bringing non-vegetarian food to his lunchbox. The controversy erupted when a video of the student’s mother confronting the school principal went viral on social media.
The video, recorded by the child's mother, shows a heated exchange with the principal. The principal can be heard saying, "We don't want to teach children with such morals, who will demolish our temples and bring non-veg to school."
The principal also accused the child of suggesting that everyone should be fed non-vegetarian food and "converted to Islam," a claim the mother denied. Despite the mother’s protests that her 7-year-old son could not possibly speak of such things, the principal insisted that the boy learned such ideas from his parents.
The principal further explained that the student's name had been removed from the school's register because other parents had complained. The mother, in turn, accused another child of frequently hitting her son, but the principal dismissed this as an attempt to mislead the school.
The viral video, lasting nearly seven minutes, has sparked widespread outrage. Following the public outcry, the Amroha Police announced that the District Inspector of Schools (DIS) had formed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter and take necessary action.
