Odisha train mishap: Adani Group will sponsor education of children who lost their parents in accident

Industrialist Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, announced on Sunday that his company would take responsibility for the education of children who lost their parents in the devastating Odisha railway tragedy, which claimed the lives of over 270 people.

Expressing his condolences, Adani stated on Twitter that it is the duty of all citizens to support the victims and their families, ensuring a brighter future for the orphaned children affected by the accident.

In his tweet in Hindi, Adani said, "The railway tragedy in Odisha has greatly affected us all. We decided that the Adani Company will fund the education of the children who lost their parents in this calamity. It is our collective duty to assist those affected as well as their families and to provide a brighter future for the children."

The incident, which occurred on Friday, involved three trains: the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, the Bengaluru-Howrah superfast, and a cargo train. It is considered one of the deadliest railway accidents in India.

As per the latest reports, Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena stated on Sunday that the death toll in the incident has been revised to 275 after eliminating some double counting. Out of the revised figure, 88 bodies have been identified so far.

In response to the tragedy, the Ministry of Railways has requested a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) investigation into the three-train disaster. The investigation aims to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Adani Group's initiative to support the education of the affected children offers hope for a better future and highlights the importance of collective responsibility in times of distress.
