CM Mamata holds Centre responsible for Kashmir tourist safety in meeting with Omar Abdullah | Watch
In an interview with Taaza TV at Nabanna, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah thanked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for sending a team to Poonch and Rajouri after the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. He said, “Didi had sent a team to meet the affected families and provide necessary assistance. I am grateful to her.” He added that he would like to invite Mamata Banerjee to visit Jammu and Kashmir and expressed hope for future collaboration between the two states in tourism, trade, and overall relations. “Bengal tourists will receive all necessary support and security,” Abdullah said.
During the same conversation, Abdullah also commented on the eviction of workers in Delhi, calling it “not only inhuman, but against democracy and the Constitution.” He said, “The workers who helped build Delhi are now being evicted from their own homes.” Questioning the democratic framework, he added, “If a citizen is stripped of basic rights like shelter, water, and electricity, how can we call ourselves a democratic republic?”
