Chhatarpur police in Bihar have successfully apprehended an individual responsible for issuing threats to Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head of Bageshwar Dham. The threat to Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri's life was conveyed through an email sent on October 19, 2023, from an unknown individual claiming association with the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.

The accused demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh and set a one-day deadline. The gravity of the situation prompted the Chhatarpur police to register a case immediately. Subsequently, a special investigation team, led by SDOP Khajuraho and involving officers from the cyber cell, initiated a multi-agency effort.

The police, in a groundbreaking move, collaborated with the National Research Agency, utilized Interpol assistance, and obtained information from Swiss agencies. The suspect, identified as a resident of Bihar, was swiftly detained, and relevant evidence, including mobile phones, was secured. The accused is now in judicial custody, and the Chhatarpur police commend the collaborative efforts of all officers involved.
