Operation Ajay: India initiates Effort to safely repatriate Indian nationals amid Israel-Hamas conflict

In response to the recent attacks on Israeli towns by Hamas militants, India has launched "Operation Ajay" to facilitate the safe return of Indian citizens who wish to come home amid escalating tensions in the region. This initiative was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support the repatriation of around 18,000 Indians in Israel who have found themselves amidst the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

The operation began with the arrival of the first batch of Indian passengers, with 212 individuals from Israel landing at the Delhi airport via a special charter flight early in the morning.

Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, was present at the airport to welcome the returning Indians. He emphasized India's commitment to ensuring the safety of every citizen and expressed gratitude to the External Affairs Ministry and the flight crew for making the operation possible.

Sanjeev Singla, the Indian Ambassador to Israel, highlighted the embassy's efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals during the conflict and informed that "Operation Ajay" will facilitate the return of Indians to India for those who wish to do so.
