Overnight hoarding of CM Mamata’s ‘Hail the Supreme leader’ was put up alongside 'Captain Abhishek' posters

Abhishek's side, a hoarding reading "Sarvadhanyika Jai He" (Hail the Supreme Leader) was put up overnight, with Mamata's picture beside it. The group of TMC supporters called 'FAM' covered South Kolkata with yellow flags. Written on them was 'Captain Abhishek.' This time, 'FAM' put up a hoarding next to the flag overnight, with Mamata Banerjee’s picture and the caption "Hail the Commander-in-Chief."  This implies that Abhishek is the leader, and Mamata is the supreme leader.

The flag of 'FAM' sparked speculations within TMC. The yellow flag reignited discussions within the party's high-level dynamics about 'distance' and 'proximity.' However, overnight, a hoarding was added next to the yellow flag, calling Mamata the Commander-in-Chief. One of the organizers of 'FAM,' Sourav Das, said, "We are the largest support community among political parties on social media, apart from TMC. We do not distinguish between Dada and Didi. As a result, unnecessary debates are arising." He further mentioned, "There are no full-time workers in our support organization. Everyone manages their workload and does everything on their own. We put up the yellow flag on the first day. The next day, we added a hoarding with Didi’s picture."

Despite Sourav’s statement, the controversy didn’t settle. In the words of a senior party leader, "If there had been goodwill, the Supreme Commander’s hoarding would have been put up first. The flag with the Captain’s name could have been put up later. But the opposite happened." Along with the yellow flag, TMC flags were also put up at various places in South Kolkata. This group of supporters will hold their 'war strategy' meeting at the Kulton Community Hall in Ganguly Bagan on Sunday. Why this meeting? What is the strategy? The organization said that the meeting is being held to outline the social media campaign for the 2026 assembly elections.

The hoarding has pictures of both TMC All India General Secretary Abhishek and versatile leader Mamata. Last Saturday, Abhishek had held a virtual meeting with about 4,500 leaders from all levels of the party, including MPs, MLAs, and district presidents, to discuss the voter list. It became clear in that meeting that Mamata had surpassed Abhishek. As a result, Abhishek became active again. After that, Mamata announced at a press conference at Nabanna on Thursday that State President Subrata Bakshi and Abhishek would oversee the party’s work during her visit to London. After Abhishek received this position, he hit the streets and showed new enthusiasm, with supporters calling him 'Captain.' Following the discussion, a caption was added to the hoarding with Mamata’s picture: "Sarvadhinayak Jai He" (Hail the Supreme Leader).
