Indian Army released images of Pakistani drones shot down over Amritsar, calling it a serious provocation. "The Indian Army will thwart enemy designs," the Army said.
China offered to mediate, urging both sides to exercise restraint and return to peaceful dialogue. Beijing stressed the need for regional stability and expressed willingness to play a constructive role.
The Indian Government stated that Islamabad is using civilian flights as cover for its military operations. Officials emphasised that the Indian armed forces are responding with appropriate and effective measures to counter all hostile actions.
The Indian government has stated that Pakistan is mobilising its military to forward areas, indicating heightened operational readiness aimed at escalating the conflict. India’s armed forces have responded appropriately to the provocation.
The government asserted that Indian armed forces conducted precision strikes solely on military targets in Pakistan, while accusing Islamabad of deliberately targeting civilians.
MEA confirmed that Pakistan launched a high-speed missile at 1:40 am, targeting a Punjab airbase. This attack is part of a broader pattern of ongoing drone and missile strikes by Pakistan along India’s western border regions.
The Indian government condemned Pakistan for its provocations, stating that it was Pakistan's actions that have escalated tensions. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized, “In response, India has defended and reacted in a responsible and measured fashion to these provocations and escalations by the Pakistani side.” Misri further added, "Earlier this morning, we saw a repeat of this escalatory and provocative pattern."
