Pakistani security forces neutralized nine terrorists in two distinct operations in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, the military reported on Monday. Intelligence-based operations were carried out by security forces in the Khyber and Lakki Marwat districts of KP, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army.
In the first operation, seven terrorists, including two commanders, were killed in the Tirah area of Khyber district, as per the ISPR statement.
The ISPR noted that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered during the operation, adding that the slain terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities and were wanted by security forces. In a separate operation in Lakki Marwat district, security forces eliminated two terrorists. Ongoing clearance operations aim to eradicate any remaining terrorists in the area. The military reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
