Two people were killed and their son seriously injured after a speeding lorry rammed into their motorcycle on NH-19 in the Bogra area under Jamuria police station on Friday afternoon. The impact of the collision was so severe that the couple died on the spot, while their son sustained critical injuries. The accident led to temporary disruption of traffic on the busy national highway before police intervened and restored normalcy.
According to reports, the young man was travelling with his parents from Chanda towards North Shearsol Colliery when the incident occurred. Vehicular movement was reportedly normal at the time. As they approached the Bogra stretch of NH-19, a lorry allegedly struck their motorcycle at high speed, throwing all three riders onto the road.
The injured youth later alleged that the lorry driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated steps to control traffic and begin an investigation. Authorities have stated that efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused driver.
