"Kolkata to get Water Metro connectivity," says Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
Continuous rainfall in Nadia's Ranaghat's Ward Number 11 has led to severe waterlogging due to the failure of the drainage system. Streets in the area are submerged, making it difficult for residents to step out of their homes. Several families remain trapped in waterlogged houses and are struggling to manage essential daily needs.
Local residents stated that they have submitted complaints multiple times to the Trinamool Congress councillor and the municipal chairman regarding the drainage problem, but the issue remains unresolved. They said the area has faced recurring drainage issues, and the current situation has made daily life increasingly difficult.
BJP MLA Partha Sarathi Chattopadhyay visited Ward 11 to meet affected residents. During the visit, he accused the municipality of negligence and said, “This is a clear example of the Trinamool government's incompetence. Common people are suffering while the administration is merely watching the spectacle.”
