A passenger named H Lal Malsaoma from Shillong was apprehended during a journey from Kolkata to Aizawl after attempting to board with a counterfeit ticket. The incident unfolded when IndiGo officials at the counter became suspicious about the authenticity of the ticket.
Promptly, they reported the matter to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who, in turn, handed over the passenger to the SCBI police station.
Following the arrest, police investigations revealed that the passenger had arrived in Kolkata for work at a restaurant 15 days ago.
The individual claimed that he intended to return to Aizawl using the same ticket on which he had traveled from Aizawl to Kolkata. The police are actively probing the case, and the passenger is scheduled to appear in the Barrackpore Court today.
