Passenger-TTE clash erupts at Bidhan Nagar station, leaves 3 Injured

In a shocking incident at Bidhan Nagar station in the Sealdah division, a confrontation between passengers and ticket examiners escalated into violence, leaving three ticket examiners injured. The altercation reportedly began when a woman passenger was allegedly manhandled by ticket inspectors over a ticket-related matter on Friday night. The situation spiraled out of control as passengers reacted by vandalizing the station and attacking the ticket examiners.

As a result, the Railways has filed an FIR, and the Sealdah Government Railway Police has launched an investigation into the matter.

The incident occurred late on Friday night at Bidhan Nagar station, where passengers accused a ticket examiner of assaulting a female passenger who was without a ticket. The altercation escalated into chaos, prompting other passengers to join in the protest against the alleged misconduct.

Railway officials swiftly responded to the incident, submitting a complaint to the Sealdah GRP and initiating an investigation. CCTV footage is being scrutinized to identify the individuals involved in the violence. The footage reportedly shows the progression of events leading up to the altercation. Passengers have alleged that such incidents are not uncommon and have complained about the behavior of ticket examiners during checks.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) intervened to restore order, but the situation remained tense as passengers were visibly agitated. Passengers forced their way into the inquiry office, where the alleged misconduct had taken place, and proceeded to assault the accused ticket examiner.
