Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday congratulated Suvendu Adhikari after he took oath as the first Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Minister of West Bengal. Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, Khandu said the state was entering a new era of development and good governance under the BJP government.
Suvendu Adhikari and five other BJP MLAs took oath in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, senior BJP leaders, and Chief Ministers from several NDA-ruled states. The ceremony marked the formation of the BJP’s first government in West Bengal after the party secured a decisive majority in the Assembly elections.
In a message posted on X, Pema Khandu said a new chapter for West Bengal was beginning and described it as a phase that would focus on development, peace, and harmony. He also stated that people across the state could now look forward to a future where every region progresses and every voice is heard.
Khandu further extended his wishes to Suvendu Adhikari and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the BJP’s rise in West Bengal. He attended the oath-taking ceremony in Kolkata along with several senior leaders from BJP-ruled states.
