People Magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' honor goes to Patrick Dempsey in 2023

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has been crowned People Magazine's 'sexiest man alive' for 2023, taking over the title from last year's honoree, Chris Evans. The 57-year-old actor expressed his surprise and humility upon receiving the accolade, saying, "I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life. It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive."

Dempsey admitted he was initially taken aback by the news and even thought it might be a joke, remarking, "I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve always been the bridesmaid!"

When asked how his children might react, Dempsey humorously shared that they would likely make fun of him and find reasons to tease him, but he welcomed it as a way to stay youthful. Patrick Dempsey, who is married to Jillian and has three children, is set to showcase his racing skills in the upcoming biopic "Ferrari," directed by Michael Mann and releasing in December. Reflecting on this opportunity, he noted, "That taught me if you really want something, you have to do it yourself."
