A petition has been filed by BJP leader and High Court advocate Tarun Jyoti Tiwari against Trinamool Congress MP Aparupa Poddar, also known as Afreen, for a CBI inquiry into the alleged teacher appointment corruption case in West Bengal.
The petition was accepted by Justice Rajasekhar Mantha on Monday. Poddar reportedly warned Tiwari of legal action for filing the petition, prompting Tiwari to challenge Poddar to answer to the CBI.
Last week, Leader of Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari released a list of recommended teacher appointment candidates on Poddar's letterhead, which has further fueled demands for an inquiry. Tarun Jyoti has specifically requested an inquiry into the matter.
The situation remains unresolved, and further developments are expected in the coming days as the petition continues to be reviewed by the appropriate authorities.
