A group of 20 students has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The petition, submitted today, calls for an investigation into alleged irregularities in the exam held on May 5. The students demand that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or another independent agency conduct this investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
The petition, led by Tanmay Sharma and others, requests the apex court to order an academic and forensic investigation of students who scored more than 620 marks in the examination. The petition also seeks a directive for the National Testing Agency (NTA) and related bodies to conduct a fresh examination.
The petitioners stated the need for measures to maintain transparency, prevent paper leaks, and curb the use of unfair means in future examinations. They call on the Central Government and exam-conducting agencies to implement these steps to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
