A major theft was reported during pop singer Enrique Iglesias’ concert in Mumbai, where at least 73 mobile phones worth ₹23.85 lakh were stolen on Wednesday evening. The packed event was held at the MMRDA ground in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), drawing over 25,000 fans for the global star’s first-ever performance in India.
Police said seven FIRs have been registered in connection with the thefts. The complainants include a makeup artist, a hotelier, students, a journalist, and several businessmen. The minimum ticket price for the concert was ₹7,000, and many attendees were caught off guard amid the heavy crowd and excitement.
Enrique Iglesias, known for global hits like Hero and Bailamos, delivered a 90-minute performance that left the audience thrilled, but the event ended on a sour note for several victims of the mass phone theft. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the venue to identify the culprits behind the coordinated thefts.
