Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to make a visit to West Bengal following the completion of the Higher Secondary Examinations, where he is expected to inaugurate various projects and conduct a public meeting. Additionally, Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to visit the state on February 29, marking a significant move ahead of the upcoming elections.
According to a state committee member of the BJP, Home Minister Shah's earlier planned visit to West Bengal had to be deferred due to prior engagements and the evolving political landscape, particularly in Bihar. However, a two-day visit is now tentatively scheduled for February 29, pending any unforeseen changes.
While the specifics of Shah's itinerary are yet to be finalized, insiders suggest that he will likely engage in discussions with the party's key figures in West Bengal and may address rallies across various districts.
Last time, when the Union home minister visited West Bengal, he had set a target for 35 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. Since then several national leaders have been regularly visiting West Bengal and conducting political programmes here.
