Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday and briefed her on Operation Sindoor, the military operation in which Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes on nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The operation targeted headquarters and training facilities of Pakistan-based terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which were allegedly involved in planning and executing the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, including a Nepali citizen.
The meeting took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the Prime Minister shared details of the coordinated air strikes, conducted in the early hours of Wednesday by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.
Photos of the meeting were shared by the official handle of the President's office on X, signaling the gravity and urgency of the post-strike brief.
The government has also put security agencies on high alert across key locations in India following the airstrikes, amid possible retaliatory actions across the Line of Control.
