Trump asks Apple CEO not to manufacture in India, says 'they can take care of themselves'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level security meeting on Saturday at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg with the nation’s top defence leadership as tensions between India and Pakistan intensified. Attending the closed-door session were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The meeting came hours after a fresh round of Pakistani shelling in Rajouri claimed the life of Additional District Development Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa and injured multiple civilians. It also followed two consecutive nights of Pakistani drone strikes on Indian territory, targeting 26 locations from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat.
Despite the aggression, the Indian defence ministry confirmed that all key installations, including airports and military bases, remained secure. India launched proportionate counterattacks under Operation Sindoor earlier in the week in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which had direct links to Pakistan-based terror networks.
Briefing the media, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri labelled Pakistan’s actions as "provocative" and aimed at misinformation. He was joined by Colonel Sofiya Quraishi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, who jointly refuted false Pakistani claims of damage to Indian military assets such as the S-400 system, BrahMos units, and airfields.
Officials confirmed Pakistan is now repositioning its military near border areas, prompting India to maintain high alert status. With both sides engaging in strategic military operations, the region remains on edge, while India underscores its commitment to a responsible yet resolute defence posture.
