Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his response to the Motion of Thanks in Lok Sabha on Monday, February 5, praised the participation of parliamentarians while taking a dig at the opposition, especially the Congress party. PM Modi expressed appreciation for the Opposition's commitment to staying in the opposition for an extended period, hinting at their resolve to return to power. He criticized the Congress for its alleged failure in playing an effective opposition role in the past decade, accusing the party of hindering the emergence of talent from other opposition parties.
Additionally, PM Modi slammed the Congress for what he termed as "family politics" (parivarvad), making a veiled reference to the Gandhi family, particularly Rahul Gandhi, stating, "Ek hi product baar-baar launch karne ke chakkar mein, Congress ki dukaan tala lagne ki naubat aa gayi hai" (In the pursuit of launching the same product repeatedly, the Congress shop is about to close).
