Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his controversial 'population control' remarks made in the state assembly, accusing him of insulting India before the world.
During a political rally in Madhya Pradesh's Guna, Modi did not directly mention Kumar but criticized the INDI alliance leader for making derogatory comments, saying," Koi sharm nahi hai unko" (He has no shame) and questioning the silence of other alliance politicians. The Prime Minister raised concerns about the impact of such remarks on women's honor and called for better standards in politics, vowing to protect the honor of mothers and sisters.
Nitish Kumar's remarks, focusing on the role of women's education in population control, ignited a significant political dispute, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanding his resignation as the Bihar Chief Minister. In response, Kumar issued an apology for his remarks within the assembly, but the Opposition members continued their protest inside the house, persistently pushing for his resignation.
