PM Modi inaugurates Boeing's ₹1,600 crore campus in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka, marking a significant milestone for the aerospace and defense industry. Costing Rs 1,600 crore and sprawling across 43 acres at the Hightech Defence and Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, the state-of-the-art campus is Boeing's largest investment outside the United States. The facility aims to foster collaborations with startups and engage with both the private and government sectors in India, contributing to the development of next-generation products and services for the global aerospace and defense sector.

During the inauguration, PM Modi is set to launch the 'Boeing Sukanya Programme,' designed to support the entry of more girls into India's expanding aviation sector. The program focuses on providing opportunities for girls and women to acquire critical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, preparing them for careers in aviation. The initiative aligns with the government's commitment to promoting gender diversity in key industries.
