Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit West Bengal once again in June, this time shifting focus to South Bengal after his recent rally in Alipurduar. Sources within the BJP have indicated that preparations are already underway for the event, which is likely to further intensify the political tempo ahead of the 2026 state elections. Sources from the party are saying the prime minister is likely to visit the state every month to boost the BJP's campaign.
Last week, Modi’s speech in North Bengal triggered a wave of political activity, where he strongly criticised the Trinamool Congress government, accusing it of driving the state into five key crises—corruption, unemployment, law and order issues, women's safety, and misgovernance. The BJP also launched ‘Operation Bangla’ during the rally, signaling a sustained campaign against the ruling party.
Party insiders revealed that the Prime Minister, along with Union ministers like Amit Shah, is expected to make frequent visits to West Bengal in the coming months. These visits aim to consolidate ground-level support and build momentum before the crucial assembly polls next year.
While the exact location in South Bengal is yet to be officially confirmed, senior BJP leaders have begun coordinating with local units to finalise logistics, outreach, and security measures. The political temperature in the state continues to rise as both camps prepare for a long electoral season.
