PM Modi conducted prayers at the Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday, ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Dedicated to the deity Veerabhadra, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, the temple holds significance in the Ramayana, with a belief that the bird Jatayu fell at this location after being fatally wounded by Ravan. PM Modi, dressed in traditional attire, performed the "aarti" and heard verses from the Ranganatha Ramayan, written in Telugu, during his visit to the temple. A video shared by news agency ANI captured the prime minister singing the 'Shri Ram Jai Ram' bhajan at the temple.
PM Modi's two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Kerala includes the inauguration of the new campus of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics in Sri Sathya Sai District. Additionally, he is scheduled to hold a road show in Kochi, Kerala, where he will inaugurate major infrastructure projects worth over ₹4,000 crore, encompassing the New Dry Dock at Cochin Shipyard Limited, the International Ship Repair Facility, and the LPG Import Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited at Puthuvypeen, Kochi.
