Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met 14-year-old IPL sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family at Patna airport as he concluded a two-day visit to Bihar. The young batter from Bihar, who plays for Rajasthan Royals, has taken the cricketing world by storm with his record-breaking performance this IPL season.
In a social media post, PM Modi praised Suryavanshi’s exceptional cricketing skills and wished him the best for his future. “His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation,” he wrote. Modi had earlier acknowledged the teenager’s performance during the inauguration of the Khelo India Youth Games, highlighting the hard work and dedication behind his rise.
Suryavanshi entered the record books with a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans, becoming the fastest Indian to hit an IPL hundred. In seven matches, he scored 252 runs at an impressive strike rate of over 206, earning praise from fans, cricket legends, and his team captain Sanju Samson.
The Prime Minister’s meeting with the young cricketer is being seen as a symbolic endorsement of rising sports talent in India, especially from non-metro regions like Bihar. With strong backing and national recognition, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s journey is inspiring a generation of aspiring athletes.
