Two sisters, Vani and Unnati Sharma, couldn't believe their eyes when they received a letter of appreciation from none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. But why did PM Modi send a letter to the Sharma sisters of West Bengal's Howrah? Well, this was to appreciate their love and their sketch of the Prime Minister.
On May 12, during the campaign for Lok Sabha election, PM Modi visited Howrah's Sankrail to address a rally. During his speech, the PM noticed two kids waving a paper, and on it was a pencil sketch of him. Stopping his speech midway, the PM assured them that he would surely accept the sketch. They were also waving the slogan of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'.
Following the PM's instruction, his officials came to the girls and asked for the sketch. Witnessing such an overwhelming moment, both the sisters got emotional and handed over the sketch. Three months later, when the Sharma family received the letter from PM, they were elated.
