Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a groundbreaking ₹24,000 crore scheme, the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Development Mission, on 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas' in Jharkhand on November 15. This initiative, outlined in the 2023-24 budget, aims to uplift the socio-economic conditions of 75 PVTGs residing in 18 states and Union territories across 220 districts.
The mission, implemented through the convergence of 11 interventions from nine ministries, signifies a significant stride towards empowering these tribes by providing essential facilities such as road connectivity, housing, electricity, clean water, sanitation, education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
